There are 5 ways companies can find and hire an Analyst. The BEST option (#5 below) provides the GREATEST accuracy of data analysis and is available for ~ 1/3 the in-house price. In order of increasing knowledge and experience these options are as follows:
(1) Choose an existing employee with no prior knowledge and send them to the recommended training courses listed below:
- Data Collector (how to safely collect data)
- Database Software (how to create and build a database and routes)
- ISO Category I (an introductory course to Program Management)
- ISO Category II (a basic vibration analysis course)
After attending these courses AND passing the ISO Category II Exam, the Analyst then needs one (1) full year of continuous experience before they can become ‘proficient’ (they can only be expected to be about 70% correct in their analysis). Companies must be aware and willing to accept a margin of error of 30% (due to unplanned equipment failures and false alarms).
(2) The next best option is to hire an ISO Certified Analyst. The entry level Analyst has a Category I certification which can be attained by simply attending a 3-4 day course and passing the exam. However this means they will basically be able to speak the language and not much else. If you’re planning to hire a Category I Analyst, verify their background and experience.
(3) The next best option is to hire an ISO Category II or III Analyst, and while they have much higher levels of knowledge and experience, they come with higher salary expectations.
(4) The highest level of certification that can be attained is the Category IV. At last count there were fewer than 100 worldwide and most work as independent contractors or get paid very high salaries by large corporations.
(5) The BEST option provides the highest level of accuracy in data analysis and complete program support. It is available, comes at the LOWEST cost, and is available 24/7/365 to companies worldwide. With this option, clients only need to collect their data and email it to us for analysis. Not only does all data get analyzed by an ISO Category IV Analyst, but we provide FREE on-site Data Collector Training, FREE 24/7 Technical Support, and FREE access to your database. Furthermore, you only pay for the machines we analyze and by doing so, we can reduce your program’s annual costs by 66%, even with all the benefits we provide!
